Needing manuals and schematics for Bonana Super Dice Mark III
« on: September 07, 2023, 02:59:30 PM »
Looking for manuals and schematics for Super Dice by Bonanza. I have Mark IIIs but will also take paper on earlier models.

Wow, I didn’t know they made a modern version of that machine. I have a manual for the older style. I thought I posted it in file system. I will look when I get home. Can you send a picture of the dice box and the circuit board?

Chris

Thanks for the reply Chris. I have never worked with these machines and have no familiarity with the GUI. I figured paper on earlier models would help me at least stumble through understanding how it works. I will get some pictures this weekend and share them with you.

Thanks for posting this. I think I saw one or a similar one somewhere in the 90s. Very cool.
I found a video of the older model, which I'm sure you have seen. I thought I'd post the link so others can see it.

Thanks,
Wayne

Thanks for sharing that Wayne. Hopefully I’ll get my machines running and then I’ll be happy to share videos of them. I love these machines that mix the physical with the electronic.

I was hoping to see pics of the circuit board and the box out of the machine so I can see if its the same as the one I have.
Does it do anything when you turn it on?
Mine was stuck on the roll dice cycle. Turned out to be a defective optocoupler on the box controller which made it run non stop.

There are Two boards on mine.

Board 1 is the computer board that does all the game play and payout. Mounted on the back wall. Mine has an onboard PS which needed new caps. There was also a multi pin cable that had some kind of liquid damage that ate away the traces. That was fun.

The second board is on the bottom of the dice box. A trigger signal comes from the computer board, tells it to roll. The mechanism pops the dice from below, initiates the scoop motor, brings the dice to the front/center where 7 eyes read the pips on the bottom of the dice. The light coming from the door must be within range of expectation or the machine calls “cheating” and goes into error.

That reading is sent to the computer board which translates it to the number on the top of the dice and presents the rolled numbers on digital display.
If there is an error the popper and scoop replay and the machine re-reads the deal.

I suspect the electronics on yours are modernized.
I do have a manual and schematic for mine . PM me if interested.

Chris
