IGT PE+ Monitor problem
« on: January 10, 2021, 02:53:10 PM »
Hi everyone, I have a IGT Draw Poker PE+ (has the Super Board) The monitor lights up but with no images. As you can see in the photo attached it looks like the Horizontal Size adjustment looks to be burned. The control seems to have no effect on the lit screen. What do you think and where can I get a replacement. Besides that what else should I look at? Fuses are good and I believe all connections are also good.

Thanks all
ljwayne

Looking at the burn on the pot - looks like it may have been caused by something shorting it out right there. The pot does not see much in the way of current.
With that said - you can usually bring the monitor back by replacing the Aluminum Electrolytic capacitors on the board. There are 19.
With the burnt pot problem, it should be replaced along with the transistor item number 185 ( 2SC4159 ) at a minimum.

Remember it's a CRT so be careful with the High Voltage present, it can linger a long time. If you are comfortable with replacing these components and get it back together you can see what else may be wrong from there.

I have parts and information if you would like help. PM me. The information is in the forum download section you should be able to access as you are a contributing member.

You can fix almost any electronic device by replacing the aluminum electrolytic capacitors.
