This machine is a "Jackpot only" style. They made a number of those that only pay larger amounts. Fun in a different sort of way.

It maybe be boring to you but I think the nostalgic aspect is fun. Plus, it was given to me so no complaints.

Hi David. I have the exact 831 machine machine (at least from the appearance). It can be very generous and also very stingy. I find that it can fill the coin  tray and then take it all back just as quickly.

Is it fun?
I love my Bally Mustang who pay wins about 10% of all play and a Jackpot around 14 Days between each other (I only play on friday+saturday night).

Recently, I realized that the $100 or Nothing slot machine (and the more recent $500 or Nothing slot machine) is just a modern version of the old "Jackpot Only" slots that paid $25 for a quarter wager! So these concepts aren't new.

I like the vintage machines more, of course!

I think most jpo slot machines R22 stop or 20 stop reels pretty simple if you only have one 7 on each real it's 22 * 22 * 22
I didn't do the math recently but if memory suits me that's around 1400 2 one

Based on my limited math knowledge, I would think a 22-stop reel would be set up something like:
reel #1: 6 symbols
reel #2: 5 symbols
reel #3: 3 symbols

That would be (6/22)*(5/22)*(3/22) = 0.00845 = 1 win in 118 spins on average = 15.25% theoretical hold percentage.

Nice machine! I think those "buy a symbol" slots is an interesting concept.

To clarify my earlier posts about "Jackpot Only" slots, I was referring to one-line, one-prize slots: 25 cents wagered to win $25.
