I recently inherited an IGT S+ (plus) Triple Diamond Slot Machine in Brand New Condition with the black key box stand. It was purchased between 1997 - 2000 for around $1100. The slot machine works great accept for the Bill Validation Device (BV). Also, I need a replacement plug that is showing signs of browning within a few wires on the clear white plastic. Can someone tell me what I am looking for as far as the BV wiring goes? The BV is enabled to a 9-1. The connector is connected. I cannot get it to power up. I checked the dip switches, still nothing after playing with different configurations. I am 99% sure the BV is not getting any power. Do I need a 5v Non-Contact Voltage Tester to check the wiring and if yes, where do I buy one? I attached some pictures for everyone to look at. Hopefully they will help someone find the problem. Thanks so much and Happy New Year to all!

It could be something as simple as the black box power supply mounted on the left of the bill validator cash can enclosure is defective.l

Thank you very much for your time and response. The machine I have does not have a black box / power supply to the left of the BV. It only has one under the BV. The machine is working from what I can see, flawlessly, accept for the BV not getting power. Does anyone know where the wires go from the BV to the door..? I tried following the wires, they seem to get bunched up with many others and seem to flow / connect to the door somewhere. The lights on the front BV are not working either. It's got to be something simple I am guessing but I have no idea what to check or look for. Now, I have been in the computer industry for over 40 years, this is only my guess...I find it very hard to believe that the small two to three wire connector leading out of the BV back end of the box has enough power to run the BV. I again could be wrong but what could be stopping the BV wires on the door from powering on? It makes no sense. I will try and post a smaller picture. I tried posting a picture but I guess it was to large. Thanks again everyone! P.S. I just posted a picture of the wire connector I need to purchase. I have no idea where to buy parts from. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all your time!

Many vendors on NLG sell that harness, troll their links on the home page.
BUT - a burnt connector usually means a burnt pin on the backplane board also. You may need to install a new 6 pin .156" Molex header also.

Thank you for you time and response. Are the backplane boards expensive? Are they easy to install? Where can I purchase the parts?

Can you solder?
Those 6 pin headers are not hard to replace.
Attached is the layout of the board.
PM me if you need more assistance.

as per your picture you are missing the entire power supply for the bill unit. the power supply you need comes in two varieties, one made by PHIHONG, and a version that has holes on the outer housing. the power supply plugs into the harness in the machine, and the output plugs into the two other connectors pictured in the picture you posted. the five pin connector ( which only uses four pins and the two pin connector. the other two pin connector already hooked up goes out to the door bezel.

I have the power supply you need.  I also can provide the power cable.

Hello and thank you to everyone for your time and responses. I am really confused. From what I understand, the BV I have is a WBA v. 11 (See Attached Pictures) Now, if I hook a power supply to the BV unit, will it blow the motherboard / machine? I cannot find any IGT S+ Slot Machines that have a separate power supply for the BV. I checked my manual, there is no picture of a separate power supply for the BV but yet, common sense tells me the BV has no power going to it. Can anyone tell me what exactly I have and what I can and cannot do with the machine? Why would Showcase Slots& Antiquities, out of NV put a BV in an IGT S+ machine that was not compatible with it and without a power supply? Also, in my machine, where would the second BV power supply mount? There is no mention of a second BV power supply in the machine manual. How can the BV work without power going to it? So this is what I am thinking, I could be wrong...The 9 Prong Female Jack in the back is the power for the BV Power Supply. The other two wires hook up to the BV / power supply on installation. I understand a little about the wiring, although I could be wrong, but, if my machine has a second power supply for the BV to work, why isn't it pictured in my manual? This cannot be as complicated as it seems. Does anyone have a picture of my machine, one like it, showing the where the second power supply for the BV is mounted to operate correctly? Thank you for your help!

here is the power supply you need, it mounts to the left side of the housing, just like I told you on the phone!,

the slot engages in the back and the stud aligns with the open hole, secure it with a nut, plug it into the empty plug in the back and and plug it in to the two connectors that come off the bill unit housing connectors, (pictured)

Thank you Jim for all your help. I did try calling you last night and left a message. I just researched these on-line, I guess they are selling for around $39.00. I will also need the J8 Power Plug since mine seems to have a burn mark. I would like to replace it. I did have a spare motherboard so once I get the J8, and activate the BV with the power supply, everything should be working perfectly. I will try calling you again. Thanks again everyone for all your time and help!! It is much appreciated. Happy New Year

Good Morning, I am still waiting on a few things, or should I say, I am still trying to learn a few things. I posted a picture of a power adapter within one of my posts. I cannot find this connector anywhere. Does anyone know where I can purchase one or maybe I can make one myself? Where do I buy these slot machine connectors? Thank you for your help!

Adding their web site since eBay links tend to disappear in time.

WOW...That's what I need...Thank you so much!!! I just bought one...Still waiting to see if I can figure out the BV. I wonder if I buy a new BV, will it accept all the new money..? Am I better off buying the newer model BV instead of playing around with the old one? Thanks for all your help...!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

I am still rebuilding the Triple Diamond Slot Machine and cannot find an updated Bill Validation Chip that will allow the BV to accept the new $5, $10, $20 and $50 dollar bills. The old chip, a picture is attached, only allows the BV to accept $1 dollar bills.

Recently, I was working with a person who deals in casino parts. He sent me two (2) programmed BV Chips and said they would work, the chips did not work. I tried the 1st chip, BV did not accept anything. I tried the second chip, BV did not accept anything.

I installed the old BV Chip, everything worked fine accept, the BV will only accept $1 dollar bills.

If anyone knows what ver. chip I need for the upgrade and where I can get one, I would truly appreciate your help.

Thank you!!
