Problem setting limits
« on: June 02, 2021, 10:21:00 AM »
I'm trying to change the Limit settings in the options menu but the display says "Field Locked in Coinless Mode".  I'm able to scroll down to view the various limit settings but it doesn't allow me to make changes as the spin reel button is not enabled. How can I unlock it ?

If your trying to add a hopper to your machine you have to key chip it and turn off coinless mode. If your not adding a hopper then that is supposed to be that way.

I'm trying to increase the bill limit which is set to 120 credits. Once the credit meter goes above this amount, it won't accept any more bills/tickets.

This is with no credits on the machine.

This is a high limit $25 machine. The graphics are in dollars. I just wondered why none of the limits can be changed. According to the program summary report SG000372, you can set the limits. Do I need to key it and go into coin mode to set it, then switch back to coinless ?

I discovered an old posting on the web with this same exact problem of the limits field being locked in coinless mode. The solution was to key the machine and disable coinless mode, make the changes to the limits, then key again and re-enable coinless. I'll try this procedure and see if it works.

I wonder if this could have anything to do with the version/jurisdiction chip. Could this be to enhance security by locking the limits field and requiring a key chip to make changes ?

Cant you leave Coinless mode disabled? I have my S2000 set to Coinless disabled and I dont have a hopper installed. My limits are maxed out and it runs fine.

This is a follow up on the Limits issue.

I disabled Coinless mode and now have access to the Limit settings. They are no longer locked. I then discovered they are already maxed out. Though the Limits are in credits, the maximum amount is based on dollars. Keep in mind that this is a $25 denomination machine with dollars on the award glass. I assume the large Jackpot limit is to accommodate a progressive. The Bill Limit seems pretty low. I plan to leave Coinless Mode disabled.
The maximum limits are:
   Credit Limit:  4,000 ($100,000)
   Jackpot Limit:  40,000 ($1,000,000)
   Bill Limit:  120 ($3,000)

Currently the machine will not print or accept tickets larger than the Bill Limit amount 120 ($3,000). I think I can correct this in the key menu 7.2.3.2 by changing the voucher limit. The voucher limit is currently set to follow the Bill Limit. The other option is to follow the Credit Limit.
