IGT S+ With 16 Meg Board Cannot enable DBV

Tried to set up DBV with no luck. IGT Super Stars, 3 coin, 16 Meg Board, I used set chip #15 with no credits on the machine. DBV cycles on start up but will not light up or even begin to accept bills. What am I doing wrong ?  I know how to get to 61-1 and clear, always worked on other machines.  Can anyone make a suggestion ?    By the way, I am so incredibly sorry to hear about Joey.   Thank you, ......Tom

Im in the same boat as you actually.  In my case though, i was told the set015 chip is not the correct one for my setup.   I believe there are charts out there that tell you the correct set chip based on your game chip.

Depends on SP chip.  set15 is probably the problem on 16mhz board

SP1145   TYPE 0/1/4/5    I didn't try the SET 90 CHIP yet.    Waiting for further direction. Don't want to mess anything up. Thanks,  Tom

The PSR for SP1145 specifies that SET89, SET90, or SET91 is required to set options for that chip.

While unlisted SET chips often work, only the listed ones are guaranteed to be compatible. Since you said you have a SET90, I'd use that.

I put the SET 90 chip in.  Now I'm getting a 0090 in the Credits window.  Not familiar with using a Set 90 chip,  Tom

Thank You but still no luck, I've always misunderstood what windows are related to < >, [ ] , and  { }      What windows represent these symbols ?  Tom

If memory serves correctly from when i went through the options on my machine.  The < > numbers show up in the coins in display, you cycle from <0> to the next number by pushing the reset button. The [ ] is the option number, i think it shows up in the credit screen, to change the option, you push the spin button, to go to the next [ ] option, you turn the jackpot key.  The { } number relates to the particular option  you are in, usually a 0, 1 or 2 (or more numbers), I forget where the { } shows up, but its pretty obvious.  With the set chip, you'll have less options to cycle through to enable the bill validator.  From when i did my set chip, there were much less options available to cycle through vs when the game chip is in.
