Says Ram error

Pulled MPU

Medium to severe battery corrosion

1 attempt to fix myself (have medium level experience and tools)
2 send out for repair ( too who please? And approx cost?)
3 buy used or refurb ( what to expect to pay and where to get one??)
4 I’m open to suggestions

Quick question...

I was reading to just remove the varta battery...  should you remove or replace with a 3v battery?  I have always just replaced batteries in older machines....

anyone have a precise how to, why to?

Just rock it back and forth left to right to remove it.  It will break off, replace with nothing. It is not needed for home use and will destroy the board.  (it may have already done that)  Use 50% white vinegar and water to clean area. Remove all the blue crap growing on everything.

When you get ram error open door and turn jackpot key until it says to push white test button for 3 seconds.  Then it will tell you to close main door.  If ram error doesn't go away the board needs replaced or repaired.

Thank you for the response...  I removed the battery (unsoldered) and replaced the 3 volt button battery... Reset key didn't help...

This machine had a Worldwide Gaming sticker with a phone number. I called and they said ship them the whole drawer and for $20.00

They would repair or replace and return it to me.

I can't beat that!!!  Shipped to them today.
