S+ Barcrest RFYM Bonus Ring Lites Not Working in Idle Mode

 I have this Run For the Money  Machine that when I got it, the machine played, but with no sound from the top box, and no lites in the bonus rings when the machine is on, not being played.  Found battery leakage in MPU, I scraped away a little corrosion and then had sound in the bonus. The rings lite when in the bonus round but still would not lite in idle.  I sent the board out to have repaired, new battery and trace repair. Well I got it back and same thing, When sitting on in idle, bonus rings are off. Attract music plays, but I thought that the rings should lite up also as an attract feature. Its not burnt bulbs, all lite in test, MPU board is good with new battery, game plays well and the rings do lite as they should when the bonus is hit. Any ideas? Is it possible that the power supply could have a bad trace that runs this feature? Would there be a "Attract Setting" to turn them off ? I have watched videos of this game where these lites are on while machine is idle but they were on a S 2000 Barcrest, since this is a S+ maybe there not supposed to lite - I don't know. Any advice what to look for is greatly appreciated.   Thanks  Dan

I didn't know Barcrest machines came on the S+ platform. Since it is an S+ it will have an SP chip on the mpu board and that may be where your important settings are made. What SP chip number does the machine have? If you don't know it you can have the machine tell you what it is by following these easy instructions:

Or does the top box have its own controller board that operates the lights and sound?

Pulled the board Chips read: SP 987 Type37, SS8548 Type 37

I didn't find any information in the download area for SP987. Maybe someone here has something on it.

The SS8548 info is also sparse, just says:

--SS8548 3R 2CB TYPE 37 392C129 96.244 SB000188--

which I think means 3 reels, 2 coin buy-a-pay game, IGT S+ Game Type 37, player payback percentage=96.244%. Would use an SB000188 base chip if the SS eprom is installed into an S2000 machine.

Thanks to NLG Member Dale, Problem solved. There is a menu setting for attract lites, melody, and Volume.
