I have an I game that won't take bills.
Installed the new software and did a ram clear and reboot now the DBV lights up and takes the bill then rejects it. I've swapped a working DBV with the same results. This is my first I game and I'm thinking I'm missing a setting in the set up.

I think you have to clear the mismatch error | |

I did find that in the operator menu and got it cleared. The DBV lights up but still wont accept a bill.

Is your DBV flashed or Eprom based?
Can you test it in another machine?

Sounds like the wrong software since you did the mismatch clear.

Yeah...thats my hunch also since it does light up...needs to be reflashed or and new prom installed.

Installed new prom, no change. I had the same problem with a s2000 a wile back and I think it was something to do with a setting on one of the limits. I've checked all of the settings several times. I don't know if it makes a difference but the only thing I can't change is the hopper limit. Being coinless would it matter if the hopper limit is at zero?

Check the credit limit setting - probably set too low

Pokernut is correct. Some of the older I plus games default to a low credit limit. I just ran ito this problem the other day and beat my head up until I figured it out. The machine defaulted to 1000 credits and I had it set to pennies and tried to put in a 100 dollar bill and it kept giving it back. After trying other bill validators, and clearing the bill validator crc and it still didn't work I really started looking harder at the limits. On other games I have never had to change the limit but this one required it. That's how we learn, give it a whirl and let us know how you come out.
