iGT Reel Touch Reel 1 Tilt at start up

Hi, first of all I want to say this is my first reel touch machine Flip Flop Deluxe. I’ve had plenty of S2000’s and there are many similarities.

Battery was dead, after changing battery cpu went through normal start up and I cleared errors. When the reels boot, reel 1 tilts. Switching  reel 1 to reel 2 position, error stays at reel 1.

I did not clear the machine, most times dead batteries don’t need it. If I should clear/key, what chips should be used? The cpu is a 1270.

I had a similar issue with reel tilts in a past machine. It was suggested to change the SG323 to higher version.

Well good on you for that.  There's no need to run a clear chip in most cases except to change the accounting denomination. 

Key 45/IVC00224 is the key/clear chips you need for your machine.

I would install SG536s and see if that resolves your reel tilt problems.  But also check and make sure the reel isn't rubbing on something and is fully seated in it's connector.

Thanks Tilt, I was thinking the SG's wouldn't hurt. There does not appear to be anything rubbing in the machine.

SG, SB,VS, ATA,BGM, and RFA all have to match or it just won't work.
Anything on the harddrive indicating what files are installed. Is it a bios 1 or bios 2 top box? All of this makes a difference you can't just throw in what the psr says, they all have to match.

I did read change notice 4243G which made the sg000323 (among others) inactive and replaced with sg000387. this was in 2006, so probably many more revisions after

How do I find that? Top box doesn’t appear to swing open or have easy access.

Thanks Mopar it gets even more complicated than that.
My initial thoughts are you probably have the correct chips, check the reel shelf socket on #1 and make sure all pins are in place and not pushed back.
If you have another 1270 board I would try that if there is nothing wrong with the socket or wiring on reel 1.

If you take the top glass off the top box swings out hinged on the right side looking into the machine.
Bios 1 = red white & blue splash screen in the beginning.
Bios 2 = green and yellow energy star screen and counts the ram test.

Warning DO NOT try and review contents of harddrive with an external laptop especially if it's a bios1 it will render the harddrive useless in the machine
