Bally Alpha Bettor TITO issue

Hi guys,

Tonight I was firing up my Bally Alpha S9000, and for some reason, it didn’t want to accept any tickets any longer.  I disconnected and reconnected the Com 1 cable, and USB cable on the Bettor TITO device, pushed the red reset button, and even reformatted the game fresh.  Still no change and all of the settings were correct as I always follow Jim’s TITO videos.  Digging a little further on the TITO, I looked at the wiring connections, traced them to their destinations and I noticed that the RX transmitter LEDs are not lighting up.  On my Bluebird, my TITO does show the RX LEDs lit.  I even tried a different USB cable and power plug, and I just can’t seem to figure out what’s going on.  The connectors are all hot glued to the board, so I wanted to check with Jim and you guys before I disconnected anything on the TITO itself. 


Anyway, if anybody has any ideas, I would appreciate it.  I also sent this message to Jim.

Usually when this happens I just hit the button to reset the board. Whats your COMM screen looking like?

Yeah, when I hit the button, the LEDs don’t change or turn off.  Doesn’t seem to do anything.


Host COMM 1 is set to SAS Primary. 
Validation is set to System.
Everything under Host Setup is also set to SAS Primary.


These are the settings that I’ve always flown with and it’s always worked.

Make sure the cables that connect the comm board to the adruino board are not lose or frayed.  Test for continuity with your multi meter (see they are super handy!).

when you power on the unit - without a serial cable plugged in you should see one LED blinking.   If you power it up without the serial cable and you don't see a blinking light then contact customer support


when you plug the serial cable in both leds should come on steady
