Game Percentages And Process To Change Them
« on: April 02, 2024, 01:34:43 PM »
Hi everyone,
I got an IGT G23 a couple months ago with the game percentages set at 98% (my request to seller) which is way too high and pays too easily.  #1, what is a decent % to set the games to and #2, how is this accomplished.  I am very raw to the AVP format and have hardly any knowledge at all with these. actually, I've never had any of the doors open. I do have an eKey7 and diagnostic key, if needed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much,
Rick

1) I, personally, aim to set all my games and machines in the 96% range. Sometimes the low 97's or high 95's. I'm not in a position to recommend good percentages based on actual casino use-cases, but I personally like in the 96's.

2) WITH NO CREDITS IN THE MACHINE... Move the lever on the right side of the machine to open the main door. Behind the button panel and towards the right there is a black lever. Pull it towards you. The front door will release and you can pull it down. Bottom left corner of the machine is a tiny door, open it. There should be a piece of cardboard or something, push it down so it's removed, then insert your eKey into one of the USB ports. Go to Setup > Game > Enable / Disable. Select the game type, then choose whatever game you want. Next to Enable hit Change. At this point you can go through all the different payback percentages and the denominations you want to allow for that payback percentage. When you're done, press Enable Selected Game in the bottom left. Save and Exit. Remove your eKey, put the cardboard piece back in, close the front door, then close the main door, and see what you've done.

You'll be doing a lot of back and forth repeating this process until you have made the machine to exactly how you want it. Have patience, it's worth it when you've made the machine exactly how you want it. :)

Thank you Eye, yea 98% is too high and taking some of the fun out of it.  And also, thanks for the detailed steps to change the % settings.

I agree with that. No problem. Were you able to get to the payback percentage settings? If there's any issue, post about it.

Not yet, going out of town for a few days, but I printed your awesome instructions and surely will be referring to them when I do attempt it.   Oh,  Is this done with no credits on the machine?    :thank_you:

No rush at all! Glad you printed them out.

Yes, you must cash out your credits before you do any of this. Otherwise, you'll be able to access the settings, but will not be able to make any changes.

Yea, you already stated that in your post.  Obviously my memory is fading some.
Thanks again, Sun
