Video Poker IGT PE+

 Hi, looking for help, I have an IGT PE + video poker, it won't take coins, it will take bills, but only 1, when I put a second bill in it pays me out, 2 $1 bills, or 2 $20 bills, plays fine, but this seems dumb, and says coin hopper paid out, call attendant....

Does the coin comparitor have a "sample" coin installed correctly? If you aren't sure then post a photo of the coin acceptor or coin comparitor that is located on the inside of the main door.

I didn't understand some of what you are describing. Are you saying that the bill validator will accept bills but instead of putting credits on the machine it pays you with coins from the hopper?

  Yes, there's a quarter in the comparitor, and it wasn't working at all when I got it, and the BV takes a bill and gives credit, plays fine, but if I put another bill, such as 2 $1 bills it pays me out on the second bill, or 2 $20 bills, same, takes the first bill no problem...

Have you tried pressing the white TEST button inside the machine? It is usually located near the mpu board or maybe the power switch. Pressing it will get you into the Test & Setup menus. You can step thru the menu screens and see the various settings. There may be one for hopper limit or credit limit that you need to increase.

Since there is a quarter in the coin comparitor then what happens when you insert a quarter at the coin head? Does it get returned to the coin tray at front of machine? If so the comparitor is rejecting the coin for some reason. If the coin goes from the coin comparitor and drops thru the coin optic boards located below the comparitor that is where the credit should get added to the machine. Describe more about the coin problem.

A photo would likely help us to know better what you have and maybe we would see something that is wrong. Can you post photos showing the inside of the main door?

Things to check, some of these may already be ok-

In the TEST & Setup menu there a screen for setting the Max Number of Coins In. The choices are 1 to 20 coins.

There is also a Setup screen for Denomination, it should be set to 25 cents.

Under Machine Options there is a choice of Credit or Non-Credit mode, should be set to Credit.

The choices you have in the TEST menus may depend on what game software your machine has. Which version or what video poker software is on your mpu board?

Can you please tell us the exact message(s) the machine is displaying?

If you're able to, it would be helpful if you could take a brief video showing the issue, upload it to YouTube, and then post a link here so we can see exactly what's happening and what the machine is displaying on the screen.  The behavior you've described is very odd, and I'm wondering if we're not missing something.
