61-1 won't clear
« on: January 06, 2024, 12:36:36 PM »
Hi ervryone,
61-1 won't clear. My S-Plus was working but not the BV. So I used the 015 chip set I got from RB. Followed the instruction then the last step to clear the 61-1 failed. I have tried several times to clear it. Looking for ideas before using clear chip. The 9  1 was in the winner paid and not the credits. the 25 denom was in the credits and a 6 in the coins played when I pressed the reset button.
Thanks,
Chet

Sixcard,
I did turn the JP key after closing the door. I also jumpered the door switch and tried it.
Thanks,
Chet

That door switch does nothing, it uses optics.  I believe that switch was just for a service light.

Sixcard,
The cherry switch wasn"t being used. I made a switchable jumper for the door optics out of it. Mark posted a how to video about it.

Is your J/P key switch working?  Do the display lights go out when you turn the key?

okay...lets test your bypass and J/P key.
Watch the [Coins Played] window very carefully as you push the plunger all the way in on the Cherry switch.
Does the number in the [Coins Played] window go out for a few seconds?
If it does, turn the J/P key while holding the plunger in.
Tell us what you see.

Or make a short video and give us the link?
Just do that...nothing else.
From there, we'll be able to help you better.

HI,
Reset key is working. I can change pages with it. No coins played displayed. It does not flicker. I read the switch with a meter. There is 10 Volts on it and it changes state.
Thanks,
Chet

Sounds like the door optics bypass is not working.

I agree...whatever number that's in the [Coins Played] window, should go out when the Cherry switch plunger is pushed in, or pulled out all the way.
The reason he has a zero in the [Coins played] window is because...the machine has NOT accepted any credits yet and the door is in an open-state.

Now is a good time to perform the Input Test ....>>> Door Open Switch [13_0]

Press the Test button until you see a "1" in the [Coins Played] window.
Turn the J/P Key until you see a "13" on the left side of the display.
Push the Cherry switch plunger in all the way...the "0" will flash back-n-forth with a "1" if the bypass is working.

Ok, still not clearing 61-1. I went through the whole procedure of enabling the BV again, after checking out the bypass switch. I think bypass switch is working. There is never a display in the coins played window once the 61 error displays. I need to call it a night. Some chores and bed for me.
Thanks,
Chet

Good evening,
I went over the door jumper switch. There must have been a bad connection on it. Machine is running. Life is good again!
Thank you for saving me again.

Amazing how well an S+ works with the door in a closed-state?
Glad you got it working!  :applause:
Those Push-On tabs aren't the best...they're only crimped.
I wanted to solder them, but they have those blue plastic sleeves over the crimped part of the tab.
Just put a pair of pliers on them, squeeze a little harder, and the contact should be better.  :cool_thumb_up:
