IGT Hexbreaker-No Signal Detected Problem
« on: December 02, 2020, 01:31:36 PM »
Hi,
I am having a problem with my IGT Hexbreaker video slot. It was playing normally, then began to intermittingly flash on an off, then would play normally for a time , then again flash on and off. Now, when I turn the machine on, there is no lighting on the machine other than a message on the monitor that says....NO SIGNAL DETECTED...CHECK SIGNAL CABLE. My question is.... Where is that cable located on my machine? (A picture of the location would be great). If, the cable is not the problem, where would I go from there to get the machine working again? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly.
Jerry

Hello,

When you say that the machine flashes on and off, are you describing the monitor as doing so or the machine as a whole?

If when trying to power it on and nothing happens, ie no Flourescent Lights, no Fans etc., I would suspect that your Power Supply went bad or is loose.

It's the silver metal box beneath the MPU with all of the little holes in it. It slides to the right to make contact with the mating plug. There's a Thumbscrew on the lefthand side to tighten it.

You can try to re-seat that first. If it's seated correctly, I'd say it's finally gone bad.

Looks like you have other machines available to swap parts around with, and any IGT S2000 or I-Game/Game King will use the same Power Supply.

Good luck,

Take it out of the Kenny Rodgers machine. Easy to get to.

This what the power supply looks like.

Okay, I admit, I'm not smarter than a 1st grader......the knob? on the left side of the power supply is what has been mentioned, correct? Well, it doesn't seem to tighten, or loosen, it just clicks. How do I get the power supply out? It doesn't seem to want to move to the left to disengage as was stated in the earlier response.

It takes a phillips head screw driver. It's in the center of the thumb screw. The thumb screw allows for tightening only.

Yeah, sorry, should've mentioned that in my post.

If it's tight, a stubby Phillips screwdriver will need to be used to loosen it.

Thanks Ken!

Some of them are a pain to get in there.

The smallest stubby phillips I could easily find was a 3.5" one at Lowes. Kobolt brand.

Problem has been solved. It is a bad power supply.
Many thanks to those that have replied to my problem.
