IGT S2000 illuminated door decal
« on: March 28, 2021, 09:11:29 AM »
Dear Forum,
I obtained an illuminated door decal for my IGT S2000 slot machine from an amazing forum member a few months ago. It worked fine until I had to peel it off and glue it back on a few times :-(
Now the „$50" no longer works.
I measured through the traces on the back with very fine point test probes and the „$50“ has a break in it along the way :-(
Does anyone have an idea how I can fix the traces or is the decal kaput? Does anyone possibly have a decal for sale, if it is unfixable?
I am looking forward to your messages.
Many greetings,
Christian

You can purchase copper tape for pcb repairs. Would need to expose the trace and them jumper with the tape. Conductive epoxy might work too.

You can fix almost any electronic device by replacing the aluminum electrolytic capacitors.

Thank you for the good advice.
I have enameled copper wire, which is very thin 0.1mm. I could use that. But: how do I connect the enameled wire to the exposed trace? Soldering damages the decal ...
The conductive epoxy is a great idea too. How can I protect that from shorting to the case? I would have to jumper the entire trace up to the connector.

Silver conductive lacquer is a very good idea. I will order such a pencil.
But how do I insulate the conductive varnish from the housing?
