Whatizthis
« on: February 08, 2016, 08:23:28 AM »
Hi gang.
Attached are 2 pics.  What is this cradle on the motherboard cover ??   Also what are these 2 switches.  I think one is the Attendant switch, but what is the other, or is the one labeled incorrectly ??
Thanks in advance.
Doc.

The first one looks like an I/O board mounted on the mpu case. My machine has one also. The attendant key is the one with the double cut. The other is the one Ohio gaming says was used in the casino to put jackpots to credits instead of paying out cash.

Yes they are standard on the S2000 machines. There is one or two in some cases on the inside of the main door. I think the ones with two have more enhancements than a regular machine. At the top of the S2000 page in the search box you can type in I/O board and it will bring up postings. Scroll down and you can read about what these boards control. A caveat...Make sure the power is off before removing any boards. There is a lot to read about these machines that will help familiarize you with them.

Shaggy is correct that is a picture of the cabinet I/O card.among other things it controls the reels.
If you're machine had back lighted reels there would also be something plugged into the front of the card to control reel lights.

i don't think the cabinet i/o board controls the reels the reels and there optics go directly to the mpu. i do know it controls the hopper, meters, candle, handle, and any key switches tho. the back light driver does plug into it but that's only to tie into the senet with the proper address. as for the second key switch it an option not all machines have and i think its function is programmable but the machine has to be linked into a casino for that.
