EDIT: Never mind, problem solved.
The switch turned out to be at the front of the machine.

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen,
googling my problem led me to this forum, but while I did find some useful info I still can't quite put all the pieces together. So please let me explain my problem:
My dad das a 1975 Bally EM 1$ slot machine. The plaque says Model 1088 but the front looks like a 1090 or 1091 according to the catalogue.
(BTW, I don't know jack about slot machines, just pieced these bits of information together in the last couple of days.)
He wants to sell it, so we were checking out if everything still works and at first it did. After a couple of plays he got a triple BAR, and since there were too few coins in the hopper, I guess the payout timer tripped.
The problem is I can't find the reset switch.
So here on the forum I found the following advice in an old thread with a similar problem:
Sound like your safety time has been tripped? This is caused when the hopper does not have enough coins to finish paying out the coins owed. To reset the safety timer you have to push the flat bar that runs under the hopper. Push it towards the back of the cabinet. This will reset the safety timer and the red light should turn off. If your game doesn’t have the lever, then remove the hopper and push the white button next to the red light.
I do see the red light, but there doesn't seem to be a lever or button anywhere near it. Here's a photo from the inside, looking down behind the hopper:The white cylinder to the left is the red light, which glows when the machine is plugged in.
Thanks in advance for any help.
(Don't mind the seed husks. Apparently a mouse has used the machine as a dining room. No cables seem to be damaged, though.)
