BB1 Battery Low. Do I need a clear card after battery change?

I done a search but there is not much info on this procedure. After a battery change on this machine do I need a clear card? Or is it like a S2000 battery change? If I do need a card, which card ? What are the settings after a clear?  Surprised this is not a pinned topic. Thank You Very Much! Tim

Yes, you do need a clear card just in case.  Although one time, I was able to swap one battery at a time without loosing configuration if you are at the stage where you are just getting the nvram battery low.  The other times, I've removed both batteries and replaced them, so I lost the configuration information. There are a few bb1 setup videos from our members, Jim from Bettorslots has one on youtube along with the clear process.

If you don't have TITO, you select standard validation where he selects system validation.

If it's a BB1, 1350, 1800 or 1810 would work well.  The 1800 and 1810 have the added advantage that they will also clear a bb2 MPU. So I would get an 1810, it should be relatively easy to come by.

As it turns out, the machine had a low  battery error 3 months ago and has sat turned off. I installed new batteries and after  rebooting it stops at "ERROR=30". I press test/diagnostic button turn the attendant key and it stops at ERROR=30 each time. Needs a clear? It has OS  - SSOS-000-1221.  Will the 1810 clear card work on this ?

Yes, 1810 clear will work with 1221.

Yeah, you definitely need a clear, the nvram configuration is gone.
