Aristocrat Video Gaming Machines / Re: MK6 Call Attendant Coin Optic Fault
« Last post by pokie3 on Yesterday at 11:54:13 PM »
Thats great news, I only logged in now, I couldn't PM you a few weeks back because your message box was full (like mine was before!) - shame they only allow a few messages.

But anyway, the final option was to just buy or borrow some spare boards, as you have done. There might of been something funny with the driver board that was upsetting the door optics and coin mech.. etc then I was going to suggest setup the machine without coin mech and just use the note acceptor if that works. Did you swap back and test that again, if it was just a loose plug all along that's good because you have a spare driver board.

Glad you got it working. These things sometimes chuck you in the deep end, but you end up knowing the machine more and at least you have some spare boards which are getting harder to come by.

Thanks for replying with that, its good information for future reference. Also glad you had a successful repair. Those games have a lot of personality which makes them fun to play.

Universal Reel/Video Games / Universal (pacific) RAM clear
« Last post by Rens on Yesterday at 09:51:19 PM »
Hi Guys,

I have a Pacific 5 Real (Universal Australia) Game Fire Bird 2.

Searching here I have not found too much on the unit.
Via a local NZ pinball group I did get in touch with an old field service agent..

My error "Game invalid, meter error"  according to him should clear with a RAM reset.

He went by memory and gave me some instruction as he was not 100% sure on his recollection I thought I'd run them trough here for confirmation if possible on the procedure.

The game/mother board is a 8600-A3F
The instructions I got is to jumper the test point/pin next to C7 and jumper it accross to the reset switch
(not sure which point on the switch)
and then power the unit on with the reset switch held.
after a few seconds while still holding reset, power off the unit.

Does this strike any bells with anyone and anyone then sure on which point on the reset switch to jumper too?

Per Alan Dorman at Klar, The volume control is on the upside down sound card next to the DIP cable input. I found it and it makes a huge difference!

Generally speaking things sound ok.. Like dealing the cards, holding, wins etc... Just a bit of crackling when you win a slot or something, because its SOOOOO loud.

Did you mean a New board or the one that came back from repair?
Can’t say I know how to adjust volume, mine doesn’t have a speaker. I would look around the game, door etc for a potentiometer.

There is a digital potentiometer that controls the volume on the board. They do fail.  Do you have a lot of background noise and static sounds?
