CF Card recommendation
« on: July 05, 2016, 02:55:28 PM »
Does anyone have a recommendation or any success with a particular type of CF card or brand?  Also an available program for formatting?

Here is an interesting NLG thread from the old NLG site about this, you can use the Search feature and find others, it has been talked about several times in the Williams VIDEO machine forum area. I don't think formatting the cf card is required since your backup software does a byte-for-byte, sector-to-sector copy process:

Also, any discussion about making copies of software should at least pretend it is for backup reasons only. No one wants the website to get into any trouble, believe it or not there are corporate lawyers just looking for something to do.

Thanks everyone.

Jim, I understand your concern.  I now own several $$$$$$ in software.  The titles I own are on the top end of the pricing spectrum. We are not talking about a $100 replacement here.  I don't think anyone on here or other is going to send me free replacement copies should something happen to them.  Most of us are not fortunate enough to own multiple copies.  I want to protect my investment.  I am not selling them.  Can't blame me for wanting backup copies can you?

I fully understand, I wasn't being funny though. I am serious, I stand behind my software. I had a WMS OS go bad on my tester, I have had it on tester for 3+ years. Refashed it and all OK again (OEM CARD)

You are just funny about your warranty period.  I understand the rest.
