OLED Button Deck Firmware compatability Questions
« on: October 12, 2016, 04:58:09 PM »
Ok so. I had a deck on a BB2 Goldfish 2 progressive that worked just fine. I wanted to change to nicer buttons and clean it up and tested it on a Alice mad tea party machine that was video. Here was my mistake. I read on another thread that it can upgrade and lock the button deck. I think this is what happened. Now I get a mismatch error on my goldfish 2 machine. Why did I not test it on my goldfish 2 machine you ask? Well that would be too easy and I would run into this problem later anyway. What my question it what can I run to be able to play my gold fish 2, Alice mad tea Video, and other video games on one machine and not run into this firmware mismatch problem. And more importantly fix the firmware issue I have now?
Thanks,
Tommy

Tommy,  I am not a expert on the wms stuff but know a little.  I think from reading in the past it had to do with OS and software combatalility.

Some versions of H13.xx OS will lock the panel into a specific firmware which cannot be downgraded with an older OS.  You can fix it by loading up Alice with OS 16CJ or later and then you can use OS SSG 1490 with goldfish 2 and it will downgrade the oled panel correctly.

Ok so I am not going crazy. I was reading about versions with letters but both versions I have are numbers only. Anybody got an extra CJ? Didn't see one on ebay.
