testing of coin comparitors on BB1
« on: November 03, 2016, 09:14:31 AM »
I'm having trouble figuring out which piece of the puzzle is bad! I have three coin compairtors that give me only a red light. I have two optic components that I don't know if they are good. Would anyone be willing to try these out on there machines if I sent them to see what's good and what's bad? I did have one working at some point, so I think the setup is OK.
thanks Jim

Post a picture of your comparitors.  None of my Coin enabled bb1's use separate optics.  I'm using MC40's which have built-in optics.

these are 3 MC-40's, the optics I am talking about is the unit below the MC-40 that the IDE cable plugs into.

There must be a mode/menu that you get into to test the coin-in optics on a BB1?
Even the ancient IGT S+ platform has a test for that.

The MC40's don't need optics, so the ones on the bracket should be disconnected.  I will post a picture of what my bb1 looks like later tonight.

They may be disconnected, however that is where the cable plugs into and has circuit boards on it. If someone has an MC-40 that shows a green light when operating, I would ask that I could send them mine and simply plug them in to see if mine are good or not.
Thanks, Jim

Post a picture of your comparitors.  Not all MC40's are compatible with wms machines.

Here are the photos, however I really would like to ship these to someone who has an operating coin comparitor and see if they are good or not. I bought them from slot brokers from this forum, but Steve has no way to test them. One did work sporadically and then quit altogether. I could have another issue and these are good.
Thanks, Jim
