First Bally Alpha 9000? Need help..
« on: January 20, 2020, 04:41:30 PM »

Found the correct clear card. Thanks.

Hello all,

Picked up my first Bally Alpha S9000 game, I'm guessing anyway, and need a few pointers on what to look for when it comes to software and clear cards

Attached are the photos of what I'm dealing with.

Questions I have are these...

How do I determine which brain box the machine has?

How do I know what Bios Chip is in it?

What clear card to I need to set this up.

Upon inirial power up, game booted until I got the NVRAM Battery Low error.

I pulled the MPU and replaced both coin cell batteries, now it stops at Fatal Fault! NVRAM not configured or something of the sort.

I'm assuming it's like any other machine I've worked on and will now require a clear and set up.

Any help identifying the machine and which clear card I would need will be much appreciated.

Thanks,  Curtis ash100

You need a 335 clear card.  Also replace the battery on the backplane.

Thanks Mark.

Didn't know about the third battery. I'll find it.

I'll post a classified ad for a card.

That's a 400 MHz MPU (512mb ram). The bios chip is clearly labeled so I don't understand that question. 335 clear card is correct for that OS & Bios. I have one if needed.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

RB,

Wasn't sure if that was the BIOS chip or not, so I took a picture of it as a Lucky guess. Lol.

Been reading through the threads and figuring things out as I go.

I'm definitely interested in the clear card though, I'll PM you

Thanks, Curtis ash100
