Touchscreen intermittent on GameKing 6.3 slant top

Hello all, I thought I'd take a break from all my WMS posts and circle round to an IGT question.  On one of my slant tops, the touchscreen works great 80% of the time.  The other 20% nothing happens.   If you wait a while it comes back, but for as much as an hour it can just stop working.  I can't imagine time is the variable at play here, but I can't think of what would cause this behavior.  Any thoughts of what to check?

Have you looked at the connector where the touchscreen is connected? Maybe as the machine warms up things expand or change in a way that causes an intermittent connection to sometimes work, sometimes not.

I reseated all the touchscreen connections and didn't notice any issues.  I did notice one of four mounting screws missing on the power supply board.  I replaced the screw thinking that if it could be causing a grounding issue when the board and case separate.  I don't know if it was the missing screw or a bad connection, but all seems to be working great now.  Thanks again!

What a terrific outcome and maybe a little luck too!   

If any of those connections are those flexible mylar (plastic) circuits with copper traces on them they do get intermittent sometimes where the flex circuit is attached to the connector. Just disconnecting and reconnecting sometimes takes care of the problem.
