Bally S6000 -Error 83F0 - Old clear ram set ?
« on: March 22, 2016, 10:40:43 PM »
Hello,

After changing the battery, I made a clear ram on a Bally S6000 : INSTANT REPLAY SMI# 2463

Everything went well, except when starting the machine I had an error 83F0.

I read this post : http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=2532.0, and I infer my ram clear set is too old compared to MAIN chips.

Unfortunately, labels are erased on the U28 and U43 chips, and it is unreadable.

There's a way to know what MAIN chip goes with which clear chip ?

Thank you

You may not need the clear chips at all. Some S6000 machines have leave in mains that do not have to be removed to perform a safe ram clear. Try this, with your existing mains installed remove the mpu and move sw8 on dip switch SW1 to on then reinstall the mpu and while holding in the psuedo coin and test buttons at the same time power up the machine. Continue to hold the buttons in on the mpu while looking to see if the display shows the message CH C followed by CL C. If it does then you have leave in mains and you have successfully cleared the memory. At that point turn off the machine and move sw8 on dip switch SW1 back to the off position then reinstall the mpu and power up the machine. It will calibrate the reels and then will display a series of numbers for date settings. Simply press the red change button and the machine should resume normal play mode.
If the display shows nothing or anything other than CH C & CLC then you'll probably have to change clear chips or swap out mains.
