Hi New Here:: S+Plus, S-2000
« on: December 23, 2018, 05:47:55 PM »
Wow,,,so happy i found your web-site!!! Wish i had about 3 months ago when i got my first machine. S+Plus 2000 5 Times $200 Last month i bought my second machine a S-2000 Triple Double Stars $200. Neither machine worked both in need of different things. Projects
I"ve been all over internet searching for manuals, parts,,etc.
Purchased a new Seg 7 display board for the S Plus and lite right up,,,in working thru Clear Ram Process First Step display working fine, Second step i notice display not on at first then went out, Closed Opened door rebooted display came on then went back off,,,,,Haven't been able to get in back on since. Checked for loose connections,,,i havent put ohm meter to it yet,,, My question is there a wiring harness available for the display board???
Thanks again
And so sorry being so new,,,but i have enjoyed working on the machines and getting them cleaned up and ready for play

For your S+, I believe it may be the power cable from power supply to mother board. If with the door open and machine on, check to see if your reels are stiff or easy to spin by hand. If easy then this is the problem. check photo it shows the plug turned around to show burn. The connector gets loose. Start a post in the S2000 section for the other machine
Thank Ya Thank Ya Very Much.

Well Elvis sir you called it! Bingo my plug looks like your pic. What's my next plan of attack? Change out the wiring harness to power supply?
Merry Christmas
and again thank you

Try re-seating the mpu.  Has it been pulled back out?  Check the reel and game chips for bent pins and are in correct direction.

With the door open, push the tiny test button next to or behind the on/off switch? If you get display, then I'm thinking door optics not aligned.

I had a machine once that acted simular. I think I used a clear chip and the display lit for it.  I believe that it was a bad chip.

Welcome to the site.  For the record, you have two different generations of machines.  Your Double 5 Times Pay machine is an IGT S Plus (or "S+").  Your Triple Double Stars machine is an IGT S2000.

This is the S+ section of the site, and we'll be happy to help you with your S+  Double 5 Times Pay machine, and this thread should continue to help you get that machine up and running.  For help with your S2000 Triple Double Stars machine, please start a new thread in the S2000 section, which can be found here: http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?board=81.0

You might want to test the battery before clearing.

First, bypassing the optics should be the last thing to try -- I'm really not a fan of doing so on an S+ machine.

Next, if you typed out exactly what you did, you missed a step in properly getting past the 61 error.

When you have a 61 error (which means your display is working now, good!), you need to do the following:

Press and hold the white "self test" button next to the power switch for 3 to 5 seconds.  If your speaker is working, you'll hear a "ding", and even if it's not the display should advance to "61  1".

Next, firmly close and completely latch the door (the door latch must slide all the way down).

THEN, you can turn the jackpot reset keyswitch on the side of the machine once, and release.  The machine will either be ready to play, or it may display another error code.  If it displays another error code, use the following link to see what the error is indicating, and what step(s) you need to take to resolve the error.

http://newlifegames.net/igterrors/

If you do in fact have a 63 error after doing the above steps, which would be unusual, there was an old thread about that, here: http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=11936.0
