Bad connections on the 6 pin Molex power plug?

Bad connections on the 6 pin Molex power plug?

I've been suspecting that Badbaud...
Personally, I'd be wiggling & tilting the Molex from side to side and watching if the display lights come on at all.
Then I know for sure it's bad receptor pins inside that Molex.

I don't think its a power problem, since the denomination lamp is on (6.3vac)  and the reels are locked on power up, that requires all the ac voltages. 24vac is supplied to the diodes to create the holding voltage for the reels, also provides 24vac to the transformer on the board tray to feed the logic board, the 8 vac supplies another voltage to hold the reels and also make up the +vb voltage (which he read at the display board across the cap).  either its a software issue, or the board is bad, but I don't think the cpu is running.

I have tested boards available.

I'm just wondering though if he opens the door and tries to add one service credit, the "Coin Accepted" lamp should turn on? ( Unless the lamp is burned out)
Because the "Denom", "Insert Coin", and the "Coin accepted" lamps work from the other 4-pin Molex at the far right end of the long display panel.
Whereas the "Winner Paid", "Credits", and "Coins Played" logic LEDS work thru the 5-pin Molex connector located next to the coin comparitor.

On the 5-pin Molex next to the CC, with no credits on the machine, I get readings of roughly around...>>>

Pin-1.Blue(DDO)  =1.2v
Pin-2.Tan(DCLK ) =8.0v
Pin-3.Grey(STB1) =9.0v
Pin-4.Red(+VB)    =9.2v
Pin-5.Green(GND) = ground

That's why I'm suspecting either a bad ground in the 5-pin black mini Molex harness on the display panel or
on the motherboards white power Molex from the power supply box.
I must be missing something?  :Scratch-Head:
But if you're getting voltages thru the 5-pin mini Molex next to the CC, then the problem may lay with the display panel I would think.
Anyways, picking up a spare board from Jim is not a bad idea...Always good to have a known working MPU!
and maybe another display panel too...lol

i have now lost power to the reels. re checked all the fuses, double checked all the connectors, now i have no displays and no power to the reels. a schematic would be really helpful. just got the ones manual. no section 5/ schematics. hopefully the troubleshooting manual i ordered will have more info. I build elevators for a living, and fix and restore pinball machine for a hobby. not bad with a meter or reading prints. frustrating to troubleshoot blind on this thing. thanks to all of you who have been helping.

First, with no power at all sounds like a power problem.

Secondly, the SP GAME PROM is exposed to light.
The glass on that chip should be covered over with some tape at the very least.
If that chip is corrupted, that could give you problems as well.
Think of the SP GAME PROM chip as an operating system such as Windows Vista or Windows 10.
The SS REEL PROM chip is similar to like putting a DVD into a laptop and playing a particular song or a movie.

Thirdly, it's important NOT to install or remove the MPU with the power ON at any time.
Doing this may corrupt data on the MPU although I'm hoping the power was turned OFF.

There are 3 ways you can lose power to the reels from it's "holding" position...>>>
The white Molex coming from the power supply to the motherboard on the floor of the machine has bad receptor pins.
OR
The fuse on the power supply is burned out.
OR
The power supply box is shorted out. ( Possible loose coins inside shorting out circuitry? )

Remember, your reels were in the "holding" position before wiggling that white power Molex on the motherboard.
We need to try to get back to at least the state the machine was in before wiggling the Molex.

We will keep trying to help you as long as you need to get your machine up and running the way you want it to.
