Bally E2270 issue
« on: November 19, 2019, 11:18:05 PM »
I've had this machine for over a month and everything was working great, today I decided to clean all the parts of the machine by wiping them down without any liquid on the rags. After cleaning everything and re-powering the machine up it was doing everything it was supposed to be doing. I shut the machine off while I went out for a few hours, when I came back and re-powered the machine I got the error in the picture below. I decided to pull the connectors out on the motherboard and slot mechanism and re seat them but still have this error and the machine does nothing now. If anyone knows what else I should check or how to fix this error it would be greatly appreciated. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Just a guess!  look at your cpu board on the left wall side, if you have a piggy back memory ram board attached to the main cpu board ,,that is probably what is causing your problem. those connections go south and cause intermittent problems. place a piece of cardboard behind the entire cpu board(this acts as an insulator from the metal) now press on the piggy back board, wiggle it around etc.  see if this fixes your problem, if it does then you will eventually have to replace those connectors. BADBAUD on the forum does those type of repairs.

hope this helps

Jim,
Thanks for your reply, I was able to fix the error I was having. Somehow one of the chips on the motherboard came out of the socket a little bit. I realized this once I took the reels out and the motherboard to attach a piece of cardboard to the back. I am unsure how the chip came loose but after pushing the chip back into the socket and putting everything back in the machine works like it did before. As a side note after verifying that it worked again I took the motherboard back out, pulled and reset every chip so it would not be an issue again.
