Is there more than 1 cherry switch that has to be closed to clear this error? I'm only seeing 1 that is pushed in by flat metal tab just above the bill validator

Belly door has a Cherry switch. Not sure if that shows the same error?

Belly door shows closed when I close it & open when I open it so that particular switch seems to be functioning fine. But when I manually push in that flat piece of metal just above the bv & there is a cherry switch behind it as well, it still shows the main door open message. Is there another switch I'm not seeing perhaps?

Under diagnostics- input diagnostics-processor diagnostics it's also showing main door open

If the message doesnâ€™t go away when you push the switch in or pull it out then replace the switch

Looks like there is (2) 7 or 8mm nuts holding the metal housing that the switch is attached to, dies that sound like the switch I need to replace?

Yes, it's the cherry switch attached to that flat bar mechanism held on with the 2 nuts. Make sure all 6 of the connections are firmly attached to the back of the switch first just in case one is loose.

If the switch is bad then which color wires will i need to twist together or short in order to show the main door closed?

If you reversed the wires then the machine will always show door is closed and you won't be able to install/setup games until you set it back. Get a new switch.

If I don't have another cherry switch with 6 lugs on the back of it, can I rig another cherry switch temporary just so I can see if the game will go into play? Also, where does the 6 wires from that cherry switch plug into the main board in the back of the machine?

Ok I pulled another 6 lug cherry switch out of one of my other games, hooked the wires back up to it the same way they were before & it's still not showing closed when I press the switch. Is there a way I can bypass this switch just to see if the game will go into play mode?

Can you post a picture of the inside of your cabinet? I have a few questions : Was there a time since you have had this machine that you didn't get the door error? Does your machine have the 2 switches in this picture? Have you been able to follow the switch wires back to the backplane?

This machine has the transmissive reels, I'm not as home right now but I can send a picture of the inside of the one I have. According to the person I got it from it was working 2 weeks ago

clcjeeper.......Your pic is of a BB1 not a BB2. The switches are in a different location on a BB2

So you purchased this machine and it never worked? Why aren't you asking the seller for support?

Just an FWI, the door switches go back to J10 on the backplane so you may want to explore the connection back there.

I bought the machine from a friend of mine thsts local, I've bought machines from him before & never had any issues, I have no reason to believe it was not working before. He's not a tech about slots in any way so he can't really help. But with this main door open issue I just have to believe it's going to be something simple, I just can't figure it out yet

Thank you sir, I will check J10 next. Is there just this one switch that would cause the main door open error and on the back of this one switch what wire colors should be attached to each of the 6 lugs on the back of that switch left to right?
