AS-2978-3 MPU Board in Series 2000 (2212) Machin

My E-2212 has an AS-2978-3 MPU Board.  I have read references that this board is for Series 1000 machines.

Is it the wrong board for my machine?  Was it used in both E1000 and E2000 machines?

The PROM chip and label on the board reference E2212.

Please advise.

The AS-2978-3 was used in both the E1000 and E2000 boards, though in the E2000
they were used until inventory was depleted, then they used the AS-2987-5, or -7
