Game king menu setup - did I miss something?
« on: September 01, 2021, 11:57:08 AM »
Hi all,

Running the game king software on my avp g20. I’ll have to double check the version, but my question:

Installed there is the game file and the theme, I installed those first before adding additional games. When I set up the user interface menu, I have 3 selectable tabs such as poker, I game, black jack etc., but limited to 3  plus an all games tab. Is there a way to set it up so it looks like the classic game king menu (tabs on the left side)? My goal was to make it similar to superstars poker and have both Ultimate, Super times pay and spin poker. Problem is that the game tabs for each variant of UX and STP are not labeled as such- they only identify as (poker game name) triple play, five play etc. Spin poker tabs are labeled with spin poker on the tab. But if they were grouped in a game theme tab, they would be much easier to jump games. My version may not be capable of this menu theme, but wanted to ask in case I missed something.
Current setup:
WMS Bb2e
Bally Pro V32
AVP G23 MLD
Konami Concerto Dual
Konami Concerto Crescent
Aristocrat MK6

I have my G20 set up with tabs for Slots, Poker, Keno, Blackjack and Roulette. Try changing the menu to "Players Choice" in the settings.

Thanks rick. Exactly what I was searching for. Sometimes hard to get the right key words to get the correct answer.

On a similar note, a casino close by just installed some bar top IGTs, the load was labeled superstars poker 2? Just curious on if this is a fam 20 series install or is this past that... if you’ve seen it.

It is probably family 20 stuff.  Most of the newer stuff will not run on the older AVP mpu's even with family 20 bios.

Just curious, is there a minimum brainbox version required? Or does it go deeper than that.

I was able to reset the game king as directed, got the 8.3 menu to appear in the Configuration screen. I’m a little disappointed that when I loaded STP, UX and spin poker, they all sort under “classic poker“ tab, all mixed together. I was hoping to either assign a new tab or sub tab, but it looks like that may not be possible.

Yes, you need the 4.0 brainboxes, which don't really work on the older cabinets, you need the crystal cabinets.
