G23 What OS should I be using

I have a error on my machine and have gotten the red screen of death after trying to load a roulette game ,
I have the e key 7 and diagnostic usb drives , and have cleared the machine ready for a fresh install ,
My question is what OS version should i be using
my Brain can is a 660 , version 3.0 , with the show chips installed ,
I have BO3 os  ,,  but says no system launcher is found

do i need a loader as well as the operating system ?
would like to know what the latest game king or multigame os is ?, i know there are lots out there for sale on ebay and whatnot but hard to tell if its newer or not ,

I use BC0 on my machines and works fine with gameking 8.3r. although b03 is supposed to work, I've never used it though.

If you wiped the drive clean, then you will need to boot with ekey7 and the OS loader usb drive to install the OS.  Once you install the OS, you will need to boot the system without the ekey and the OS USB and go through initial setup until you get to the point where you add games.  If you are going to be using a gameking release.  Then at this point you power down.  Boot with ekey7 and gameking 8.3r loader and install.  Remove ekey7 and gameking 8.3r loader and boot system.  Then you can do the gameking autoconfig.  After the autoconfig, you can then selectively edit the games to your preference.

If you are not going to be using a gameking release, then after you go through initial setup, you can add the games through the setup menu/add packages option, you do not need to reboot machine if you are not going to be using a gameking release.

It loads like it's supposed to but then when at  the final step I get
No system loader is found or determined ,system boot fail
I'm using a zip file of the os on a USB drive and it is loading fine
Could use all the help I can get

Did you also wipe the hard drive when doing the diagnostic clear?  If you are using an SSD, it has been our shared experience here that some brands do not work for some reason.  I use sandisk drives exclusively to avoid any issues with that since they always seem to work.  I know some versions of PNY drives don't work, can't remember others.

ahh , yep i wiped the hard drive with the diagnostics , so does this brick the drive? , and do i need a new one ?
not sure whats in there but i know its a ssd , , will be back home on monday to see what brand is 
the brain box is a 3.0 660
i tried many times to load the os and still getting the same no system loader note on the screen after i load the os and pull  the ekey7 and os stick out and reboot ,

No signature found means the game can't read the boot 1 or boot 2 chips.

I would try to reseat both first, and then try reseating the Serial ATA card.

You may have a bad Serial ATA card and/or a bad boot chip on the card.

Make sure the ribbon cable is seated as it should be and in good condition.

He is getting no launcher.  By that point both Boots 1 and 2 have validated.  Launcher is the OS

Wiping the hard drive is the correct step.  Why the system is not seeing the OS is beyond me.  Are you sure you are wiping the everything and you are not getting the write protect switch issue?  The little toggle switch needs to be write enabled position.

do i need to put the switch in the down position to proceed with the os install ?
or maybe there is a newer version of the diagnostic thumb drive ?
this g23 seems to have the latest components , and i tried the ribbion cable , it seems to be working and i have no lights by the reset button

I have no idea beyond what I've suggested.  At this point, I would try a different OS, maybe yours is bad?  For whatever reason, the system cannot find the system files on the hard drive.  I've always left the switch in the up position without issues.  What version of the diagnostic drive do you have?  I think for OS's in the "B" range, you should be using 14-21.

yep i have the 14-21
ok ill see if i can get ahold of another os for this machine and will let everyone how it goes ,
and will leave the switch in the up position ,
tommorow will start working on it again

YES ! i got it installed ,
The problem was a crap version of the OS , was non working .
thanks for all the helpful tips guys ,
you helped me stay focused ,
now im going to try out the game king should be fun ,
