gameking help
« on: November 23, 2014, 02:41:45 PM »
I'm working on a friend's gameking. Machine was working and turned on he came home and machine was dead. Machine has 3802 board. Red light on monitor is on. 2 green lights on main board. When machine is turned on bill acceptor cycles. No screen. I don't see any problems with wires. I checked fuses. Cannot put bills in after machine is on. Is the red light behind the hopper supposed to be on?

I think you're probably referring to the red LED that is on the communications board.  If so, no that is not normally lit.  With the machine on and door closed do any of the player buttons work?  Doe the candle light blink?  I'm pretty sure two green lights on the MPU lit is normal for a 3802 board.  Is it possible that the monitor is bad, but the machine is working and you just can't see it?

I really don't think it's the monitor it is a newer 1 but I could be wrong. Is there anything else that would cause the monitor not to come on? The bill acceptor now works, turned the key and went into the menu setup and turned it back. Still blank screen. Earlier both lights on the candle were flashing now only bottom.

How did you go into the menu if there's no screen?  Is this a CRT or an LCD?

By turning the reset key/and pushing the white button. It's a crt screen 14 in. I think I remember cerinex screens were really cheap I don't remember. I did replace the screen about 7 months ago I got from a guy here. Is it normal for them to just go out? Like I said machine was on and working fine guy left came home and it was blank.

It sounds like the monitor is most likely your problem.  They can go at any time, like anything.  If it is a ceronix monitor they have a pretty good flat rate repair program, $45.00 or something like that, give them a call.
