key chip 17 question

I cant get my key chip 17 to work ( the chip is installed correctly ) Every time i installed it all the lights on the mpu where on , So I contacted the person i got it from and said that  the enhanced board  could be why it  does not work , Is this correct ?

Could be. I never tried a 17 on an enhanced board. It's definitely old school. I use a 45. The machine has to be at zero credits to key chip.

Do you have an enhanced board? If so a 17 will not work. Can you post a pic of your board?

If you have an enhanced board with an "R" daughter board then you need an RBK chip to key it. If you have a legacy adapter board with a sound simm slot on it then you'll likely need the 45 key chip mentioned above. As requested, post a picture of your board and we can help if needed

That's a legacy adapter board so a key 45 is your friend on this. Also, as mentioned above, zero credits on the machine before attempting to key it

We've all done it way more than we want to admit!  :duh: Sit there cussing a machine, clear chips, and everything we can, and then say "Oooooh dang it! Grrr....there's credits on it!!!!!!"  :rotfl:
