s plus bill upgrades

I have some old S Plus slot machines with ardac bill acceptors. I want to upgrade to the newer $US bills, but I think I read on here that the board in these machines are not compatible, or they dont make the software anymore for this platform. Does anyone know? My friend reckons if we swap out the bill acceptor units to WBA 13 then they should work ok. I dont want to buy anything new if its going to be a waste of money.

You can change to a WBA 13 but you'll have to get different software for the b/v. That being said the newest made for the S+ format will only take the colored $5. No other newer bills. I just use the old non colored bills and call it good. The only uptick is you get 4-way bill acceptance (up or down) but for me not that big of a deal for a five dollar bill.

To clarify, the latest S+ software for the WBA13 will take colored bills up to the new $5, it was the next to the last colored bill released.  The only colored bill it doesn't accept is the new $100.  But all other bills will work.
