Can BB2 speaker grill used on 1.5 conversion?

Hi Guys,

The BB2 Bose speaker grill is much sleeker and minimalist design compared to a BB1. For the BB1.5 conversion, can the BB2 grill/speakers be used?

No, the doors are different on the BB2 (shorter than the BB1) and also the entire speaker system is configured differently too.

A lot of people take the bezel off and spray paint it black to more closely resemble the BB2 look.

I'm having a BB1.5 built for me now.  Didn't realize there were a difference in doors. where else are there cosmetic differences?

I thought about doing this too.  One would not want to get too generous with the paint though to avoid sealing up the perforations in the speaker grills.  This can affect sound quality of the high range sounds.

I chose to leave it alone and just wait for my true BB2 cabinet to arrive......................at some point!!   LOL

Hello;
         In my view, the BB1 top sound is better. You will notice that it has 4 speakers and base unit. While the bb2 has only 2 speakers and a base unit. The BB1 has a better surround sound to me. Spin a reel once, listen to the sound. it will travel thru each speakers left to right. It has been pointed out that the BB2 goes Left to Right but plays 3 times in each speaker. Not very noticeable but still the facts.

The sound is fantastic..no complaints there. I am just trying to make the speaker grill look sleeker and more like the one in a BB2 cabinet.
