Just out of curiosity, is there a good retrofit monitor that will go in fairly easy if I want to replace my 19" 4:3? 

Input would be appreciated.

If I put in a an NXT2 and a widescreen monitor, can I play games like this?

My short answer is yes without the top monitor, but I will test it tonight on the game I have to see if I get an error, since I've never actually tried it.  I know alpha 2's games will tilt out if they don't have the required monitors.

I don't know the answer either and have no way to check but I wanted to say Kronos is a great game IMO. I was playing Great Eagle Returns last night and was having a blast. Great game also.

I tried Vampire's Embrace which is also a G+ Deluxe game and got this error.
It would not work unless the top monitor was connected.

Thanks guys.  I'm trying to determine whether or not a widescreen monitor would make sense, but it sounds like if 2 monitors aren't going to be used, there could be problems.

NXT2 MPU is eventually going to be done for sure.  So for games that are made for widescreen, what happens if you run those on a 19" 4:3 LCD?  Do they auto adjust?  For example, I thought Jackpot Block Party was widescreen only.  See photo.

They don't display at all, the system will try to set the monitor to the correct resolution, but since the monitor can't you won't even get a screen up.  Only those games designed to be bb1 compatible have the capability of using the narrow screens, though you will get the extra animations and sounds even with the narrow monitor.  The iPlay games are all narrow capable (Airplane, Jackpot Block Party, Princess Bride, Jade Palace, and Winning bid 2).

None of the G+ Deluxe games will play unless you have 2 widescreen monitors..  The Lucky Penny games won't play either

This is what it looks like running a widescreen game on a 19" monitor. Game still plays but you will miss 3/4 of the picture

Oh, I didn't think it would play at all.  Learned something new today.  It would be pointless though, you can't see the last reel at all on the bottom or the right side.
