Newbie with questions
« on: October 29, 2015, 08:52:41 PM »
Hi guys. Stumbled across this site after picking up 2 BB1 games. A Super JP that has a nxt2 in it(which I think makes it a bb1.5?) I checked the cf cards and it runs 1221 os and they r stacked side to side. The other is a Invaders from the planet moolah. The cards are stacked front to back. My question is where to get ram clear and cf cards of different games besides ebay. There is very slim pickings on there. Also since my games r single screen does that mean I can't do dual screen games?
Thanks for any info
Rob

Are you sure you have a NXT2 CPU on the Super Jackpot Party game?  If the MPU does not have a hard drive, you do not have a NXT2 mpu.  You will need a clear 1810 if you indeed have both a NXT and NXT2 mpu's.  The 1810 clear works for both platforms.  Regarding your dual screen game compatibility, you would be correct, you cannot run dual screen games on them, at least not without buying additional hardware.  There are also BB1 dual screen games and bb2 dual screen games.  The hardware requirements for both are different.

Technically a BB1.5 has dual 19" screens.

Thanks for the reply. I will send a pic tomorrow of the mpu
. But I do remember seeing something about a hard drive on there. And it has a big sticker on the front that says NXT2. As far as the ram clear and cf cards, any ideas?

Wherever you picked up your machines, they didn't offer you one?  Usually most nice vendors would just give you one.  If not, you can post a WTB and I'm sure someone will answer your plea to puchase one.

OK Rick thanks. Here is the picture of the cpu. If the ram on the current game is 256 can u play 128 mb games as well? Also is there a way to disable the counters inside the cabinet. They r fairly noisy especially on big jackpots

It's not a NXT 2 CPU.  There are 2 variants of the bb1 mpu.  The older green one with CF cards back to back, and the newer blue one with CF cards side to side.  They just used the cover that has the NXT2 sticker on it.  Here's what a NXT2 cpu looks like.

The CF card capacity does not matter as to the play-ability on the bb1 MPU.  If the game is compatible with the bb1 mpu, it will work.  There are bb1 compatible games that come in 512MB CF cards.   I couldn't tell if your mpu has the 256MB Dimm or it is upgraded to the 512MB Dimm, the picture got cut off where the Dimm is at.  If you have the 256MB dimm, you will definitely want to upgrade that to 512MB.  You have the latest bios for the mpu.

The only way to disable the counters is to switch your sjur chip to a mississippi jurisidction.  It is the small socketed 8 pin dip chip, it is the ONLY 8 pin dip socketed chip.  You will require a clear and setup again if you change the jurisdictional chip.

Here's my list of BB1 Compatible games. I might be missing a few, but not that many.

Rick
Thanks for the list.  How accurate are the os family. I'm getting a John Wayne from Brad Clark and it comes with a 1460 os, whereas your list shows h9.22

The 1460 is os Family H9.25.  You can use any OS as long as it is in the same Family H9.x and higher revision than required.  So since John Wayne uses H9.22 and you are getting an H9.25 OS you are good to go. You just couldn't use something like H9.20, it would tilt the machine and won't boot pass the point where it checks for OS/Game compatibility.  Here's a picture of an OS card.  In this case this is an SSG 163H7 family H13.10.  So any game that uses H13.10 or lower (must be within the H13.x range) this os card will work.  So when you say 1460, it is really SSG-000-1460.  With BB1's it is best to refer to the os as SSG1460, because in some cases there's an OS with the same number, but different "SS" prefix.  Like these

SSOS-1490 and SSG-1490

WMS used the prefix to identify what generation the OS was for.

SSOS - BB1
SSG - BB1/BB2 (though not all will work with BB1, but most will)
NSOS - BB3
