Changing Top Box on BB-1's
« on: January 01, 2016, 01:34:36 PM »
Can a "chop top" box be easily changed out to say a "round top?" ...  Concerned about such things as are the wire harnesses long enough; upper part of door compatibility. Any "rattlesnakes" to cause concern?

How long are the candle wires? Will they strech out at least 3x the size? My opinion would be jump to the square tops in case you want to do a Bluebird 2 conversion. That way you can add a second monitor.

Terry

I have converted from a chop box to a tall top without any issues.

The panel with the wire plug connections stays mounted to the main cabinet and is not attached to the top box.

Thank you Bryan... I have a "game set" that has no glass but have located a glass set which is "next size up" from "chop top." If the top change out is easy what a great option.
