Convert BB1 to Dual Monitor
« on: January 05, 2016, 11:21:57 AM »
I would like to find out what all components are needed to upgrade a BB1 to a Dual Monitor BB1.
It is currently a John Wayne BB1 with a square top box.

At sometime in the future I would like to convert it so that is has dual monitors and can run both BB1 and BB2 games (both single/dual monitors games) with minimal hardware configuration changes.

First step is that I would just like to run all of the cool BB1 dual monitor games.

Thanks for your help.
Steve

You would need a tsetse flyboard and the necessary harness to power it and com signals to the backplane.  Then a top monitor to put into your topbox.  You could use the NEC monitor that has been used by many of us here for our bb2 conversions (NEC Display MultiSync E223W-BK), it fits nicely into your square top box and no modding necessary.  To later convert to a bb2 setup, you would only need to replace the mpu for cpunxt2 mpu and replace the main monitor with a 22" widescreen bb2 monitor and you would be all set.

Thanks for the reply Rick.
Can you tell me where I can purchase a TSETSE flyboard and harness?
It looks like Newegg has the NEC monitor and a decent price.

Thanks Again,
Steve

Check with Jim (bettorslots) here on NLG for the TSE board.
He may have some left.

Thanks for the reply Rick.

The conversion to a dual screen is a nice improvement, the dual screen game selection is limited but you can always power off the top monitor for single screen games.  I think the conversion looks much better than the factory dual screen cabinet.

If you have questions just ask, here is a pic of one I have been working on.

This machine came from the fine folks at Game King Slots, it was a Dean Martin chop top.

I removed the chop top and replaced it with the tall top and NEC E223W top monitor and TSE Flyboard.

I added the extra spin button so it will play any of the extra spin button games.

All in all a fun project.
