Digital sound for supported Digital Sound Amps on bb2's.  You would need to replace your sound amp with a bb2 sound amp (They are blue with the SPDIF coax input on them).  I upgraded my bb2 conversion with a digital amp.

Oh man, why did you have to tell me that Rick?  If there is a sound upgrade, I'm all over it.  Is it as easy as unbolting the old one and putting the new one in it's place?  Is the sound quality really noticeable?

Yes, pretty much plug and play.  You will need a 75ohm coax cable with rca ends.  But honestly, I can't tell the difference in sound quality, other than perhaps a little louder.


The amp I bought didn't come with the brackets to mount it to the cabinet.  I removed the ones from the old amp and used them with the new one.

So the green board in mine has a mini jack, which is how it is currently connected.  Next to it, is an RCA jack.  I had a Monster digital coax (RCA) cable lying around, so I disconnected the mini cable, and connected the digital coax from the amp to the jack on the NXT2 MPU.  Seems a bit louder, but I'm not sure there is any difference in sound quality.  Maybe the blue BB2 amp really wouldn't make much of a difference.

You got lucky then.  My green amp also had the rca jack, but it didn't work.  Not all green amps are wired the same I guess.  That is why I had to get a blue one.

I think the RCA cable is more useful in an actually BB2 cabinet as the sound is MUCH clearer and much loader. Most of the time on my BB2 I have the volume set to 2 where the BB1 cabinet was always around 10-12

Wow, that's interesting.  Volume of 10-12 on my BB1 would blow your head off.  I generally set all of my games at either 1 or 2 max in the menu during config, and then the sweet spot is either at the middle or lowest setting of the "in-game" volume.
