Tournament Mode
« on: February 06, 2016, 04:33:49 PM »
Because Key Chipping the machine is a hassle, I figured I'd ask this question here before enabling the feature...  I'm using Game King 6.3 software.

#1 When you enable Tournament Mode using the key chip, are you just enabling a menu option, or are you turning the machine into a tournament machine always?  In other words, if I enable Tournament Mode, can I still run the machine normally and only start a tournament when I choose to?  Or do I have to Key Chip again to return it to normal slot machine operation?

#2 Are the tournaments available for all the games?  Or do only certain games have a tournament mode?

Nobody here has ever tried tournament mode on a Game King?  :Scratch-Head:

I don't know about GK 6.3, but on my 4.3 it's pretty easy. With no credits, enter operator mode. Setup -> Machine Options -> Tournament Games.

You'll see Tournament Games Selection and Tournament Games Setup

First menu chooses which game & pay table to play, Second menu sets up maximum time in minutes & seconds and starting credits. When either run out, the game is over. Credits do not accumulate, there is a separate counter for credits won.

Press Draw right after turning the jackpot reset key to restart for the next player.

Ok, so enabling tournament play with the Key Chip just enables the tournament option in the Operator menu...  Perfect, thanks!
