s2000 key and clear chip options
« on: April 24, 2014, 03:18:36 PM »
I have a couple of S2000 machines that I have had for a while and need to work on. They appear to be the standard S2000's and not the enhanced boards. The only key chip that I am sure of is Key 17. I have done a number of different searches but have only seen how to use the chips and not what chips to use. Sorry if these is an old issue but I'm unable to find the information.

One machine is a single denomination and the other is a multi-denomination. I don't know if that makes a difference. Currently, I have key 17 and key 40 that I have used on my I-games/game king.

Regards,

Philip

Hello  Attached are two files I have on setting up an S2000.  I am no expert as I only own one s2000.  I used Key 31 and IVC 00097.  Not sure on the KEY 17.  Hope it helps.

Key 17 works with almost anythig for the basic functions and setup.  Most people like 31 or 45 now, but 17 always seems to work right.  Just make sure you have no credits when you key chip.  Also it is rarely ever necessary to perform a clear.  If you switch games, just step through the tilts, run your key to setup the game percentages and you are good to go.

I know it's really late, but should I be able to change the denomination with just the key 17? I tried and it doesn't seem to accept the change. I have an s2000 with an s+ game. Not sure if that affects it.

You can only change the accounting denom by using a clear chip. Coin/player denoms can be changed with a key chip. Values must be equal to or a multiple of the accounting denom. You must have zero credits on the machine to use a key chip.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

Got it. Thanks. You guys are awesome here. I learned a lot just by reading here. It's been a few weeks and now I've learned about s+, s2000, and the bally 6000 too. You guys have made this so much easier.
