RAM CLEAR ON A GREEN BB1 CPU

I have a little problem. I got a new GREEN BB1 CPU for use in my BB2 cabinet. I've never had an issue with BB1s before but my 1810 RAM CLEAR won't clear..... Is it the RAM clear card or the CPU that's causing the problem?


I have attached an image of when the clear card cuts off. (It's right before the green confirm screens appear)

After the attached picture... the machine stays on like normal except the monitor is black. It's the kind of black where it's ON and showing something... but that SOMETHING is black.

Does the machine clear though?  Have you tried installing a game after it?  Just for kicks, I would put the bb2 mpu and clear with it, then boot bb1 and try to clear.

When I try to install a game afterward I get another hangup... here's the problem I get when I attempt install...... I have that pic attached.


I already tried clearing in the bb2 CPU first.

Can you clear bb2 with no issues?  Has this bb1 mpu ever worked for you?

I can clear BB2 with no issue.


I am leaning toward the BB1 cpu being BAD! I'll need to return it....

I have 2 BB1 cabinets...

One cabinet 1810 works just fine.  The other I can not clear with 1810, I have to use 1023 on that cabinet.

1810 is my go to on BB2.

Worth a try before you blame the MPU...

Yeah I was going to suggest looking at the bios version, although typically when you have an incorrect bios with the clear it would fail validation at the beginning.

After the ram clear is validated it WILL NOT go to the green confirm screens (none of them). I even tried waiting 10 minutes!

One more thing to check before you pitch the MPU....

The batteries..............
Sometimes the system will halt itself if the batteries are low/dead even on the clear function.
It would be wise to replace them in any case.
