I just picked up a new machine... I was told it may need a new monitor. Not a big deal I would want to upgrade anyway to a lcd. BUT when I power nothing on.. then an alarm goes off after a minute or so...The bill acceptor does not cycle the buttons donâ€™t light up! Beginning to think Iâ€™m dealing with much more than I bargained for. Iâ€™m getting 5 amber lights on the board. Any ideas? Thanks

Also I was told the machine has been sitting... I think I will put a new battery in tomorrow. Is there a vga out on one of these boards? I appreciate any help thanks

Sounds to me like the monitor is indeed bad. The machine is trying to boot up (but you can't see it) and has ran into another error, most likely a RAM error due to a dead main battery. The BV and button lights are not going to do anything until the MPU can boot up further than what it is right now. Get your LCD monitor (make sure get one with the right connector for your machine, 19 or 25 pins) and then you'll be able to see what the next issue is so you can correct it.

Congratulations

. To change the games you'll need a keychip. Post the Base and GME numbers and we can tell you which one you need. I couldn't read the numbers in the photo, but they may not be right anyhow. Press the MPU self test button, then Accounting, then Program Version Information. It will take 15 seconds or so for the screen to populate, then post the M00XXXX and G00XXXX numbers here.

Pull out your bill acceptor and look at the bottom. See if it has a chip in it. If so, ask RB about an update. I don't think 3.75 accepts the new $100.

Bad news! Back to nothing... played fine even played a different game... screen looked pixelated and getting feedback in speakers... pulled lcd... looked around. Put back now nothing. If I pull board and turn on the lcd reads no video signal so Iâ€™m thinking thatâ€™s not it. Also both game boards that worked minutes ago donâ€™t work. Thanks

That cable goes from the motherboard to the comm board (shown in your picture). It's not needed unless you're using a TITO board.
It sounds like your power supply is going bad. You can try reseating it and if that doesn't work check the +13 and +25VDC outputs.

I tried another power supply that is the same from my s2000 and same nothing... I have a meter but can remember how to check voltage on backplane

Found this on the door? Can someone tell me how to check the power supply? I forgot and really donâ€™t want to make things worse. I kinda think that the game is just not booting up... either game I should say. Thanks

I checked the outputs on the power supply and they are fine. The LCD is brand new and when the board is taken out and machine is powered on the â€œno video signalâ€ shows up. But could something in the machine have broken the new lcd already? Because This is what it was doing with the old crt and when I replaced it with the lcd a couple of days ago it instantly worked. Any help is greatly appreciate!
