Key chip with credits

I apparently forgot to disable the hopper on one of my I-Games. So now I get a Coin-Out Jam.

Is there any way to rescue this situation by key chipping it even though there are credits on the game?

Or is it time for a memory wipe?

Thanks. So, how could I resolve this?

Perhaps remove the battery from the MPU and install a new EEPROM in the backplane?

Stick the hopper in and let it cash out?
Then you can keychip it and change the settings.

Do you have another complete game set?  You may be able to swap games to clear that error without a clearchip.

I do not have a hopper.

I do have another complete game set.

Or could I just swap all the chips onto another 3902 board so it gives me a processor mismatch?

Edit: Oh, I think that's what you mean by "swapping games"!

Use key 22 or 40 and answer yes to all three questions.  It'll wipe the RAM and EEPROM and then you can set it back up again.

The same thing happened on Kingpin Bowling, and I noticed that when there's a coin-out jam, the operator menu doesn't allow you to view Accounting information.
