Coin-out jam options Verification Required
« on: December 16, 2020, 05:51:04 AM »
Ok, this is my first post and I am an EXTREME NOVICE so please be gentle.

I have a Stinkin Rich game.  It was working fine.  I ran out of credits so put more in.  When I went to take my money out, up popped this message.

I have a coin less machine that has no hopper, no option to put coins in.  I never went in and changed anything.

Any suggestions?   I am more than happy to post other pics of this machine as needed/requested as well.

Any help I can get I would appreciate.

The machine thinks it has a coin hopper.
You need a Clear chip to erase the credits 1st, then a KEY chip to disable the hopper settings and enable the printer (if you have one) or use the attendant key to erase a payout.

With the power off, pull out the MPU and take a 1000kb photo.
From the photo of the MPU board you have installed in there, we'll be able to tell you exactly what KEY chip you'll need to get.

Okay...the chip with the yellow label has someone's writing of "I3044"
That tells me you have what is called an IGT "I-Game".
"I0003044" is really the way that label should be read as a Stinkin' Rich 5 Reel 100 Line game.
Those games are video based and are 3902 MPU circuit boards.
You need a KEY00040 to get into the settings.

So do I need a clear chip as well or does that cover both?

Key 40 has both key and clear functions, no need for a separate clear chip.

PM me if you need a Key 40.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

I received the key and put it in.   Nothing is happening.   I've attached 2 pics.  1 of the screen basically not showing anything and then a copy of the board.  What am I doing wrong?

I have tried the chip with the arrow both ways and I have double and triple checked to make sure all the pins are set in.

Suggestions?

If you put that key in backwards then you fried the board. That board probably isn’t any good anymore. I’ve done it as well.

Probably just fried the clear chip. You will need another. Be sure to install it with pin 1 in the proper direction, the notch is the indicator on one of the short sides. The board is most likely ok.  The chips will fry if inserted backwards (180 degrees ) and powered up . Be sure not to bend or break any of the little legs, they all have to be inserted in the socket properly or they will not work. That usually won't fry them but they break off easily and you would need another one. Kind of a knack, but after a couple times most people understand how 'delicate' they can be. Could write an entire chapter of a book on how to properly handle, insert and remove IC's. Actually I'm sure there are books on just that subject on the web.

Well better the chip than the board I guess.   I'll get another chip and make sure I do it correctly this time.

Thanks for the reply!!
