Game King bill validator comm issue

keep getting a comm error with the billl validator.  Ran the key 28 reset, how do I know what the proper address is? Is there a wiring diagram or schematic that can help me verify connections?  Previous owner bought a replacement whole bill validator but the same error so I'm thinking it's addressing.

There is no addressing for netplex devices.  Since it was replaced before you bought it and hasn't worked the first thing I would check is the BV firmware.  It should be ID024.  Post a pic of your validator so we can determine if it's a WBA or MEI.  Pictures have to be less than 1MB, so resize as necessary to get under that limit.

How do I check the BV firmware if I cant communicate with it?

Ok, it's an MEI validator.  There's a wrinkled, crooked pic in the middle photo, what does it say?  I can't make it out.

Part number on both is 252014091 with different serial numbers obviously

First, this MEI SC6602 is the correct bill validator for the S2000/I-game Game King.  All SC6602 validators use ID024 which is the IGT interface.  You may have an older software version which doesn't accept the latest bills but I doubt this would cause a communication problem. It should just reject bills it doesn't recognize but all versions should take $1.00

Do you have another SC6602 head you can swap as a test ?  The problem might be in the the head, the interface board in the chassis or the wiring harness/connections.

According to the part number, this is a flash version BV head. If you have the older software version and need to update, you need to find someone who can flash it (load the latest software). It would probably be simpler to just buy another BV head.

Thanks!  Is there any technical documentation on the wiring harness/connections and interface board?  There are pics of the connection to the bill validator.  It will not run to accept/reject bills at all.

The only electrical connections on my MEI is three of those four black connectors. One of the black connectors isn't used on mine. Disconnect those spade connectors that have the black & green wire. Those spade connectors aren't used.

Unplugging the spades made no difference.  Cant even feed a bill to either bill changer.
