WMS BB2E Emotive lighting
« on: August 06, 2023, 11:06:38 AM »
My BB2e emotive lights stay blue all the time. Not sure if they're connected properly. I know the lights only work on specific games. I have lord of the rings Spartacas Wizard of OZ silver slippers and Planet Moolah. Ive never seen any light colors but blue. On the light controller i got 2 green lights on LED activity A red flashing light on cpu heartbeat A solid red on LED V+Good A blue light on +3.3 good and an amber light on +24 Good. Nothing in the SD card slot. Any ideas???

There is a test for these lights in your diagnostic menu.   I know Lord of the Rings does not provide effects, but the lights should slowly change from color to color.
WMS "BB1 Pick Your Fortune"
WMS "BB1 Jackpot Party"
WMS "Match Game" CPU-NXT.
WMS "Gold Fish 2" Transmissive
WMS "BB3 Willy Wonka"
WMS "BB2 Lord Of The Rings"
WMS "BB2 Winning Bid 2"
IGT Vision "Red White And Blue"
IGT Vision "Pink Panther"
IGT I-Game "Munster"

If you are running games using OS Family H9 you will not get any lighting effects. Most games using OS Family H13 use the emot lighting. Again, it depends on how the game was programmed. Some games were ported over from older OS to H13 but again, if they didnt program the light effects, it wont show up and stay Blue.

One thing that I have done to run a certain game was to use jumpers to fool the CPU thinking it was a different cabinet type which also killed communication to the Lightning Control box. Have  you done any of that in your machine? Do you have a jumper on your backplane J10 from 10 to 12? If I disconnect this, it will kill the lightning effects and just stay blue.

i don't see anything in diagnostic to check the lighting. Checking the backplane for jumpers now

i finally found the problem. The usb coming from the light controller was not plugged into the cpu. everything works great now. You'd think they'd check everything when i bought the machine
